I just got back from an enchanting trip through Laos. We took an overnight train to the border, crossed into Vientiane, then off to Vang Vien, through the hills to Luang Prabang and finally back to Bangkok. Now is the time to go to Laos...before the hordes of tourists come and discover what a gem it is.
